Happy April, Frankfurt Family! Header: NEWS FLASH! (Washington, DC April 1, 2007) ~ In a rare Sunday news release the Congressional Budget Office released the news of a new grant awarded to FAHSPA, (Frankfurt American High School Party Association) for $100,000. The Federal grant will fund extensive research into the "Children of the Cold War Stress Syndrome", or CCWSS, which is widely purported to lead to a satisfying and fulfilling life. The level of interest has peaked recently with the notoriety of an internet website called www.fahs.org... More on this Story... Thank you, as always, I should start my letters to you, this month and every month with a Giant Thank You! Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers; former students and faculty, who have given of themselves in various ways. We so appreciate the donations and the photos and the deeply moving emails we receive each month. It is your participation, in whatever way you choose, that makes this site so much fun for us to offer and for you, we hope, to discover. I am continually amazed at the variety of folks who make submissions of one form or another. We know so many of you just visit quietly and never say anything on the open forums we offer. But we are just as pleased with your visits as we are from the folks who contribute in a more tangible way each month. Keep sending your photos. I want to put in a plug for my favorite Frankfurt event of the Year, The ELEVENTH Annual All-Years All-Classes Frankfurt American High School Lake Hartwell Party! (Hartwell XI ! We're Back!) You may have seen something about it, you may have heard about it. This is your chance, your year to actually participate. Please come to the Lake. For the 11th year in a row, your fellow Frankfurters will be gathering on the sunny shores of Lake Hartwell, SC/GA. Here is a link to more information. http://www.fahs.org/discus/messages/5086/5780.html?1175203068. Scroll to the bottom of the page and read up. Finally, here's a link to a photo album with pictures of many previous gatherings: http://www.fahs.org/Thumbnails/fahs_photos.htm. This is the most fun allowed by law in most states. I urge you to break away on at least part of Memorial Day weekend and show up to have the best time of your life. If you are a timeshare holder, there is an RCI (http://www.rci.com/RCIW/) resort a very short driving distance (less than three miles) from all the festivities. Check for Kinston Manor at Foxwood Hills (#404) and The Villas at Foxwood Hills (#2070). I hope to see you there. Please note the incredible amount of activity and new postings at the website that have taken place over the last month. Don't forget, Old Gold, YearBooks, Guestbooks. Scroll down and click the links in this Crier today. I must make a note about the Super Duper Leute Finder. The database is down and being worked on. This feature resides on a server out of our control. The effort of the SDLF is a donated volunteer project and we are so grateful for it. In closing, the wonderful renewal that is occurring in nature at springtime should remind us that it can be a time of renewal for ourselves as well. Think inwardly and consider in what ways you can renew yourself this spring. Take a moment to reflect deeply on the meaning in your life and look for the eternal passion for life that burns in your soul. Use that energy to make a positive impact on this world. Please pray for all those who are in need of succor around the world. Have a wonderful April, See you at Lake Hartwell in May, With a Warm Frankfurt Embrace, As Always the Crier is brought to you by the web elves; who work for cheap wine and cheaper smokes! |
