Lobster Festival road races draw large crowds

ROCKLAND - A beautiful Sunday morning greeted the 140 runners who participated in the annual Maine Lobster Festival 10-kilometer road race, along with another 46 runners who took part in the children's 1-mile fun run.

Andrew Goupee, 24, of Ellsworth was the top runner, completing the 6.2-mile course in 35 minutes, 26 seconds. Cassie Hintz, 17, of Stillwater was the top female runner and second overall, with a time of 36:33.

In the children's fun run, Dakota Smith of Rockland was the top runner, finishing in 5:34.
