Got back on November 30 all in one piece.  Had a great time.  Arrived in Munich to sunshine on the 23rd and were transported to the Edelweiss Lodge in Garmisch.  On Monday took a trip to Süd Tirol (Brixen) and enjoyed a warm sunny day.  Tuesday we were met with rain and fog.  We went to the Oktoberfest and spent time at the Hofbrau Haus.  It was a little wet, but so what.  Wednesday (still raining) we left Garmisch by bus and stopped by Oberammagau and Rothenburg on the way to Frankfurt.  Thursday (still raining) was spent with a tour of Frankfurt in the morning and a delightful visit to the I. G. Farben bldg and the former FHS in the afternoon.  Most of the buildings that we remember between the Farben bldg and the high school no longer exist.  Construction in currently going on right up to the high school for the university which owns all the property.  The high school is guaranteed to be in existence until at least 2015.  Later we walked thru some of the old housing areas (Platten, Von Steuben, Hügel).  On Friday the rain quit and we had an overcast day and were able to get in a Rhine River cruise.  Saturday was spent around Frankfurt doing our own thing.  The sun came out on Sunday as we boarded the plane for our flight home.
