Richard Zowney Richard Zowney, 40, died May 6, 2005, at his home in Portland. Formerly of Canby, he was born in Tacoma, Wash., on Feb. 4, 1965. He attended grade school in Trail, Ore., Ackerman Junior High in Canby and his freshman year at Canby High School. His family moved to Frankfurt, Germany, in 1981, where he graduated from Frankfurt American High School in 1983. In 1984, he moved to Portland, where he met and married his wife Kim. Richard was employed as an assemblyman for PECO in Portland. He is survived by his wife, Kim; daughter Rachel Zowney; two stepdaughters, Katrina and Erin Lester; father Thomas Zowney and stepmother Susan, both of Bend; sisters Trisha Winnie of Molalla, Amy Bricker of Dallas, Ore., Tina Hughes of Wallowa and Dena Nork of Bend; brothers Doug and Mike Nork of Bend and many nieces and nephews. His mother, Margie White preceded him in death in 1989. No services will be held. Contributions in remembrance may be made to the charity of your choice.
